What is a choice?

Mom and I have talked about love on several occasions.
I disagree with her idea that love is about the spark.

Her warnings were to not get too close to a love prospect, because when 2 people get to know each other too well, the spark has a hard time forming.
And.... maybe from seeing her decision, I have an example of why that is a bad idea.
That spark, is temporary.

True love is a choice.
You decide to love your partner, and you have a decision to make everyday during that relationship.

And linking that to my young love towards God.
It is so discouraging when I don't feel like listening or talking to Him.
But like I want to be with my future wife, I have to learn to communicate even when I don't feel like it.
