I finally got to feel inspired today!
No no, more than that. It's a combination of inspiration, and the feeling of putting it into action.

Guess what the first 4 lines are!
They are....
license plate numbers.
I saw them on the way back home after my Psychology class.
We learned about our memory and how we forget things.
Well now, I am quite interested in improving my memory.

I was going to try memorizing cards, like in the class video.
But then, part of putting information into your long-term memory, requires you to retrieve the information regularly.
And since I don't feel like playing cards a lot, I decided to use something more practical.
License plates!
In case of a 'hit and run'.... or some kind of scenario.
But more importantly, I come across cars quite frequently, so I can do this regularly!
Lets me use my brain instead of just napping because I have nothing else to do.

Now, let's get onto the idea of 'chunking'!
What is chunking?
It is a way of understanding things!

Let's see, try to memorize within 10 seconds.
asiofuhgjbkanpbvuiaisjngo

And try this!
This stupid is sentence confuse period.

Now.
Why am I doing this? I do not really care.

Bam, why does the 2nd and 3rd line get into your head easier?
Because it is CHUNKED for you!

The 1st line, can be attempted by doing the chunking yourself.
I would do it by: asio-fuh-gjb...... etc
The other 2 lines, are already chunked therefore giving you an easier time to memorize the 6 chunks in the 2nd, and even 10 chunks in the 3rd line.

Now I can go on and on about this, but the reason behind me doing this is because of the Encoding Specificity Principle.
Basically, the talking and explaining helps me memorize.

Little fact: License Plates and Phone Numbers, can be memorized easier because they are already chunked.

I was going to explain how I use Elaboration, to memorize those license plates, but I kind of got side-tracked.
This is more for myself but you can read it for entertainment.
