Tangled Leashes

So I decided to answer a friend's request to look after her house and 3 dogs for the weekend, and it's the 2nd day.
I bused to Chelmsford, started regretting that I didn't bother looking up where her address was.
I decided to find my way by walking down streets and hoping for a feeling of 'I have been here before!'
That took me an hour.
An hour of meeting a run down housing with old people, a stranger brushing a horse, and walking into somebody's backyard and having the father interrogate me "Can I help you?"

But yeah, I found my way back to the bus stop and figured it out. Should have followed logic the first time, whatever.
Entered the house, got jumped by the dogs, feed them (using methods I learned from Google and manga I've read before).
Started unpacking, found that I spilled all my yogurt in my bag and on some of my clothes.
I had to clean that up while going downstairs to find out that the dogs ate more than I thought.

Shower, got the dogs into the kennel while another was let loose in the house for the night.
I decided that I wanted to see how it was to sleep with a dog, so I slept on the floor last night.
She gave me a lick and quickly settled by my side, and yeah. I went to bed at 10:30, I didn't want to stay up late and bother the dogs.

So yesterday I left work at 3:45pm, went home to pack up and eat. Got on the bus at 6:30pm, got to my stop at 6:50pm.
Wandered and found the place around 8:00pm, and yeah, bed by 10:30pm. Crazy early.
And then Peanut (the dog that slept with me) woke me up, wanting to go pee. At 5:30am.
I was supposed to get up at 8:00am!

But yeah, I gave them some water. I decided to give each one of them a walk, and to observe.
After I finished that, it was 6:30am.
Fed them, and started eating for myself. And it's now 8:50am.
Seriously, taking care of dogs needs so much energy and I'm not sure if I want to have more than 1 dog.
Maybe 2 so that they can interact, but 3 would be 1 too many.

But yeah, I got to know a bit more of the dogs.
Peanut, the cutest of the 3 and the most calm. Wants attention the most.
Tiamo, the only male of the 3. Not sure what he wants, shall I label his traits as "alpha male" traits? But he's separated from the other 2 dogs during the day.
Shimmer, the freedom loving yet slightly retarded one? Runs everywhere, jumps everywhere, but forgets to drink her water. Totally does not get along with Tiamo, probably cause he's humping her whenever he's got the chance.

But yeah, I'm sure I can take care of them as long as I am keen on trying to understand them. But I also have  these thoughts on training them, because the owner obviously didn't do much of a job.
None of them understand commands like sit, or calm down.
So I am training them to put their paws on my knee, and rewarding them with a food pellet.

And because they are being free fed (meaning that a whole pile of food is left for them), they don't have to work for the their food.
So I am taking that away for the weekend, and only giving them food after a session of 'come to my knee'.

I won't be training them since the owner did not give me specific instructions to do so, and even if she did, I don't have the experience.
But at least I've got them to understand that I am a master, and needs to be listened to.
Doing that through walks (if they stop to pee on another dog's territory, I will just keep walking and pull them). Food, they have to listen or I won't put their bowl down.
And yeah, I've only gotten some scratch marks over my chest because Tiamo was too excited in the morning.
